Applicants also must pay an application fee of $500, and if successful, commercial hemp growers must pay $5 per outdoor acre or $0.33 per 1,000 square feet if growing indoors. Commercial hemp farmers are also responsible for paying for inspection costs, in addition to the field inspector’s drive time at a rate of $50 per hour.
